We are happy to announce that our office has resumed all services, including passport acceptance and birth and death certificate issuance! However, ONLY the individual(s) needing service are allowed in our facility, and we ask that visitors wear masks. Our employees are required by gubernatorial decree to wear masks when greeting the public.  Patrons also will be required to observe 6-foot radius from others.

Please do not bring children or others not needed for the service you are seeking.  Individuals not needed for the transaction will be asked to leave the building.

The clerk of court will continue to take steps in order to comply with federal, state, and local guidance to protect the health and safety of our staff and public. We suggest that customers electronically file court documents (civil) through our Odyssey eFileLA program: www.efile-la.com or fax filing. E-recording also is available: see the eRecording page of this site for details of this convenient service.

The April 4 election was rescheduled to July 11. Early voting will be conducted from Saturday, June 20 through Saturday, July 4 (closed Sunday, June 21 and June 28).

Our office is pleased to provide this website to help both individuals and businesses obtain information and conduct business. We welcome your suggestions and comments for improvements.

The duties and responsibilities of the Clerk of Court are established by the Louisiana Constitution. Under the Constitution the Clerk serves as the Recorder of Deeds and Mortgages, Clerk of the District Court, Treasurer for the Court system, and Chief Election Officer of the parish.

The Clerk of Court's office is not funded by ad valorem taxes. The operations of the office, including the salaries and benefits of the employees, are entirely funded by the collection of fees for the services the office provides. The Louisiana Legislature statutorily establishes all fees.

We are pleased to offer free online access to all of our indices - land, criminal, and civi - in the online search feature of our website simply by signing in as a guest. Images for all our scanned records can be viewed by purchasing daily, monthly, or annual subscriptions on our website, www.clerk25th.com.

Our mission is to provide high quality, courteous and responsive service at all times, to manage and preserve accurate, meticulous records, and to provide convenient access to documents filed in our office.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve you. If you have any questions, email us at info@clerk25th.com.

About Us

The Plaquemines Parish Clerk of Court's Office is the repository of records dating back to the 1790s, although the parish itself was only established in 1807, just five years before Louisiana's admission into the Union. Interestingly, most of the records filed with the Clerk in the 1800s were written in French detailing property transactions, marriages, and civil lawsuits.
