Marriage Licenses may be obtained from the Office of the Clerk of Court. Office hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30pm. Monday through Friday.

The License must be obtained at least three days (72 hours) prior to the Wedding and expires 30 days from the date of issue.

The fee for the license is $30 which includes cost of a certified copy of the recorded license.

Requirements for Obtaining a Marriage License:

Certified Copy of Birth Certificate or Birth Card

Must provide Social Security Numbers, Addresses, Father’s name, mother’s maiden name and the place of parent’s birth of both applicants

If either party has been married previously, applicant must provide a certified copy of the final decree of divorce, or if the former spouse is deceased, a copy of a death certificate.

Both parties must be 18 years of age to marry without parental consent.

If applicant is 16 or 17 years of age, consent of both parents is required. If younger than 16, must have both parents’ consent and a court order from a district judge.

Must obtain the marriage license at least three days (72 hours) prior to the wedding ceremony, and either the bride or groom must come to the clerk’s Office to apply for the license.

Marriage license expires 30 days from the date and time issued.

If certified birth certificates cannot be presented, and the 72 hour requirement cannot be met, a waiver from a Judge is required.
